Using a Parallel Port Camera

Here is an article on using some outdated but still usable technology. I purchased an SBIG ST-8E parallel port camera on Astromart for 225 dollars in 2017. This is a 1534 x 1020 Pixels, Class II Kodak KAF1600, 3 megapixel CCD camera with an internal autoguiding chip. Though I already have an SBIG ST-7E camera, a similar ST-7E sold for 100 dollars on Astromart at the same time I purchased the ST-8. Hard to beat the quality and price! However, since they are parallel port cameras they do have longer upload times and need a parallel port, which most new computers don’t have anymore. Read the article for more info.
